God’s Country
Last weekend we finally made it to the North Shore to visit Tom & Michelle. The last time we visited, we went up on Saturday and came back on Sunday — a very long drive for a very short visit. This time, we went up on Friday and came back on Sunday. Still a very long drive, but at least a less hurried visit.
The scenery wasn’t quite as pretty as our last visit (near the peak of fall colors), but it was still beautiful. The lake (Superior, of course) was breathtaking. It is amazing to me how huge it is! This photo was taken from the guest bedroom window at about sunrise.
Michelle was preparing for fiber-related craft shows, and was busy dyeing wool. I have a new respect and admiration for hand-dyed fiber! While I liked several of the skeins she created, they take several days to dry so I was unable to swipe buy any of them… but I did manage to snag this:
Now the task is to find just the right pattern to bring out the gorgeous appearance of this yarn!

I LOVE that picture! I wanted to take it and post it to my own blog!
Hope you had a wonderful Christmas with the kids all home! Talk to you soon!
